Care for your Spine, Strengthen your Back & Tone your Tum
What is Pilates? - Pilates is a health and fitness programme designed to re align and strengthen the body in a safe, effective way. It promotes flexibility, balance, co-ordination and concentration. The gentle but dynamic exercises develop core stability and endurance, correct spinal alignment, improve posture and strengthen the spine
A strong core not only maintains good posture but helps to prevent lower back pain and muscular joint problems. Flowing movements are performed with fluidity and ease with emphasis on control, precision and lateral-thoracic (rib cage) breathing.
How Does It Work? - It works to correct muscle imbalance in the body. If you are weak in one area the rest of the body has to support the imbalance. Core stability exercises are an important part of the Pilates method which focuses on improving the strength and control of the stabilizing muscles in the pelvic floor, lower back and abdomen.
